AHRI
REES SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION 5K FUN RUN/WALK (6:00 – 7:00 A.M.)
Join your colleagues, AHRI staff, and fellow runners and walkers for the fifth annual
AHRI Fun Run/Walk to benefit the Rees Scholarship Foundation. Enjoy Miami while getting in your daily
exercise by running or walking at any pace that allows you to keep smiling and
enjoy the sunrise while finishing with a sense of accomplishment! The $80
participation fee includes a $20 donation to the Foundation. Each participant
will receive a receipt of contribution for tax purposes. The fee includes a
water station at the mid-point, pre- and post-event refreshments, and an AHRI
5K Fun Run t-shirt. Simply select the "AHRI Rees Scholarship Foundation 5K
Fun Run/Walk" session when you register, and list your t-shirt size in the
“Registration Questions” section.
FIRST-TIME ATTENDEES WELCOME MIXER (5:00 – 6:30 P.M.)
Members attending the Annual
Meeting for the first time are invited to a mixer prior to the opening session
to meet AHRI staff and other first-timers, hear first-hand about the schedule
of events, and learn how to navigate the many sessions and activities to get
the most out of your first AHRI Annual Meeting. Please select the mixer on the
registration form.
OPENING
POLICY INFORMATION SESSION: REGULATORY/ GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS/CERTIFICATION/INTERNATIONAL

This session
will feature a living room-style conversation about the federal, state, and
global issues facing our industry and how your association is responding to
those issues. We will also review the
2017 Annual Meeting program of events and activities.

a Havana Nights” WELCOME RECEPTION AND DINNER (7:30 - 9:30 P.M.)
Join
friends, colleagues, and AHRI staff at the “Bienvenido a Havana Nights” welcome reception and dinner hosted at the
Royal Palm Pool. Dress is casual.

ANNUAL
CHAIRMAN’S BREAKFAST, INDUSTRY AWARDS, AND KEYNOTE
ADDRESS (7:00 - 9:00 A.M.)
Join AHRI Chairman Chris Drew
for the Annual Chairman's Business Meeting Breakfast, during which he will
report on the state of the association, announce the winners of the Chairman’s
Challenge, and present the AHRI Industry Awards. Following the awards, Chris
will welcome keynote speaker Mick Ebeling, CEO of Not Impossible Labs, Two-Time
SXSW Innovation Award Winner, and Author of The
New York Times bestseller, Not
Impossible: The Art and Joy of Doing What Couldn’t Be Done.
SPOUSE EVENT: Scent Creation Workshop (9:30 – 11:30 A.M.)
Fragrance
is often a personal commodity. An experience like no other involves giving guests
the opportunity to mix their own scents under the direction of a scent-creating
expert. Scent experts will demonstrate a 90-minute perfume and cologne mixology
course for guests to observe, ask questions, sample scents, and create their
own. Guests will receive a small sample bottle to take home, as well as a
memory of their time finding the perfect personal scent.
COCKTAIL RECEPTION (6:00-7:00
P.M.)
Join
us for a cocktail reception on the Blue Monster Patio/Lawn to catch up with
friends, meet new colleagues, and welcome first-time attendees. Following the
reception, dine on your own at one of the on-property restaurants, or off-site
in Doral, downtown Miami, or chic South Beach, all of which feature several
quality dining choices. You may check with the resort's concierge in the lobby
for assistance with making dinner reservations and transportation arrangements.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14
PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S NETWORKING BREAKFAST (7:00
– 9:00 A.M.)
Please join us for AHRI’s professional women’s networking breakfast
event. Meeting attendees, spouses and guests from all professional backgrounds
are invited to join us for breakfast, meet and network with other women, and
enjoy a presentation by Linda Cliatt-Wayman. Linda is a retired 32-year veteran
educator who spent her career in low-income, low-performing schools in
Philadelphia. Through her incredible focus on high expectations, intense
professional development, building strong leadership teams, and always
believing in and loving her students, she has turned school after school into high
performing institutions. She has been featured on TED Talk, ABC World News
Tonight, and Nightline.
Linda was named a Top-50 Finalist for the 2016
Global Teach Prize and her many other awards and honors include the Partners
for Civic Pride Maneto Award, the Philadelphia
Magazine Trailblazer Award, the Mothers in Charge Award, the United States
Department of Justice Award, and the Delta Sigma Theta Torch Award.
INCOMING
CHAIRMAN'S LUNCH AND SPORTS AWARDS (12:30 - 1:30 P.M.)
Join
incoming chairman Chris Peel for the Incoming Chairman's Luncheon and Sports
Awards, during which Chris will outline plans for his tenure as AHRI Chairman.
Following his address, Chris will introduce the 2017 Golf and Tennis Chairman,
who will present the entertaining and popular awards.
CHAIRMAN'S
RECEPTION AND DINNER-DANCE (6:30 - 11:00 P.M.)
Join
colleagues during the closing reception and dinner-dance as we transport
you back to the 1980s with a high-energy performance by The Spazmatics, who
will perform your favorite 80s rock classics. We will honor outgoing chairman Chris
Drew and welcome newly elected chairman Chris Peel. 80s attire is highly
recommended, so dig out your coolest 80s look and come ready to rock out! This
event will celebrate another successful AHRI Annual Meeting. You DO NOT want to
miss this totally rad event!
PHOTOS
NEEDED! We are planning an 80s photo montage to play during the Chairman’s
Dinner Dance and would love to get you up on the big screen! Please dig through
your photo archives and send us your best 80s photo. Photos of members,
spouses and guests are welcome. Whether you were 5, 15, or 25 years old in the
1980s, we want to see them! Please send the photos to Adam Carey at acarey@ahrinet.org. Photos will be collected until October 16, 2017.
RECOMMENDED ATTIRE
Suggested
dress for daytime committee meetings, product section meetings, breakfast, and
lunch is resort/country club casual. Casual attire is recommended for Sunday
evening’s opening reception, and this year’s Chairman’s Dinner-Dance dress code
will be your 1980s best!

qualified sponsoring company representatives, working press representatives,

registration fee covers attendance at all general sessions and product section
meetings; the Welcome Reception and Dinner; Annual Chairman’s Breakfast,

Breakfast; Incoming Chairman’s Luncheon and Sports Awards; and the Chairman's
Dinner-Dance. Sporting events, sightseeing tours, the spouse event, the
Commercial Refrigeration Dinner, and transportation to Miami International
Airport following the Annual Meeting are priced separately and are not included
in the registration fee. Please include payment for these activities with your
registration fee.
Spouse/Guest
Registration
The
registration fee for a spouse or guest (not a business colleague) accompanying
a member registrant is complimentary and entitles that person to attend the
Welcome Reception and Dinner; Annual Chairman’s Breakfast, Industry Awards, and
Keynote Address; Women’s Professional Networking Breakfast; Incoming Chairman’s
Luncheon and Sports Awards; and the Chairman's Dinner-Dance. Spouses and guests
may not attend product section meetings.
When
registering your guest, please ensure you provide their email address in the
required email entry field on the registration page.
Payment
AHRI
accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
Cancellations
Registration
cancellations will incur a $100 administrative fee. Refunds will be provided,
less the $100 fee, if AHRI receives cancellation notice via email by October 27.
After October 27, no refunds will be given. Attendee substitutions will be
allowed. To cancel or request a substitution, email Kelsey Fonnett at kfonnett@ahrinet.org.
TO REGISTER
Please
check the appropriate areas of the registration form to indicate which product
section meetings, general sessions, social functions, sports activities, and
tours you and your spouse/guest will attend. Your registration confirmation
will be sent to the email address you provide.
Please
complete the “Registration Questions” section of the
registration form by listing the following information, if applicable: your
emergency contact information; any dietary restrictions; your golf
handicap and foursome request; rental clubs request; tennis rating; any tour
restrictions; your t-shirt size if you will participate in the AHRI 5K Fun
Run/Walk; your departure information if you want return shuttle bus
transportation to the Miami International Airport on Wednesday, November 15;
and other personal information we might need to make your participation more
enjoyable.
We
will be including your preferred product section on your badge. Please select
from the drop-down menu of product sections to select the product section that
will be printed on your badge.
If you have already
registered and forgot to add your spouse/guest or need to modify your
registration, please follow these steps:

Pick
up your Annual Meeting name badge and program information at the AHRI
Registration Desk in the DJT Ballroom West Foyer from Saturday, Nov. 11 –
Tuesday, Nov. 14. If you were unable to
register by November 6, you may register on-site. The registration desk hours
are as follows:

PRESS
Registration
is complimentary for the first two (2) representatives from a qualified working
press organization. After the first two representatives, press from the same
company will be charged the full registration fee.
OPTIONAL SPORTS AND TOURS
Sporting
events and tours have been arranged for your enjoyment during the AHRI Annual
Meeting. Operation of the individual tours is subject to a minimum number of
registrants. If a tour does not meet its minimum, it will be cancelled, and you
will be notified and will receive a full refund or the option of joining
another tour on a space-available basis with the original fee
applied. Include payment for all tours and sporting events with the AHRI
registration fee. See the Sports, Tours, and Spouse Event tab
of the registration site for further details.
AHRI POLICY ON PRIVATE
SOCIAL FUNCTIONS
The
AHRI policy pertaining to private group social functions during the period of
the Annual Meeting is as follows:
"Member
companies are encouraged to avoid scheduling any private group social functions
during the period of the AHRI Annual Meeting. If any such functions are held,
they should be scheduled in all cases so as to avoid any conflict with
programmed AHRI meetings or social functions."
