GENERAL INFORMATION

The AHRI Board of Directors and staff look forward to welcoming you to the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, a premier resort on 26 acres along the Gulf of Mexico in southwest Florida surrounded by swaying palms and fragrant flowering trees.  Conveniently located just 12 miles from the Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point offers upscale casual elegance and charming, southern-style hospitality.

The resort features spectacular waterfalls and three pools, outdoor hot tubs, and the 18-hole Raptor Bay Golf Course designed by Raymond Floyd. The Stillwater Spa, with 18 treatment rooms and Watsu pool, tennis courts, and on-property bicycle and kayak rentals are sure to fill your need for exercise and relaxation. With its own marina just a few minutes’ walk from the resort where you can board a water taxi to the secluded beach of the nearby Big Hickory Island, you will know you are in a true mid-November “paradise.”

November temperatures average 82 degrees high and 62 degrees low, with less than two inches of precipitation.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13

ANNUAL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS AND NEED-TO-KNOW SESSION (6:00‑7:15 PM)

In this session, you will learn about the benefits of your company’s membership in AHRI; be introduced to AHRI staff so that you can put faces with names; be briefed on the federal, state, and global issues facing our industry and how your association is responding to those issues; and review the 2011 Annual Meeting program of events and activities. “First-time Attendees” will be recognized and welcomed!

WELCOME RECEPTION AND DINNER (7:30 ‑ 9:30 PM)

Reconnect with friends and colleagues at the picturesque Waterfall Pool Deck for a sizzling “Havana Heat” reception and dinner where you will experience a bright, tropical “Calle Ocho” Havana setting with colorful Latin entertainers and spicy Cuban aromas! Upholding the tradition of the culture, guests will have the option of dining on Cuban-flavored meats, empanadas, paella, the traditional black beans and rice, as well as on alternative, non-spicy entrees, Cuban pastries, and flan. Stop at a specialty coffee café, enjoy traditional Cuban cordials, and partake of hand-rolled cigars. Dress is “Havana Nights” evening resort casual, so bring your “panama jack” hats and your linen jackets/shirts. The Waterfall Pool Desk is paved, but some of the seating will be on the grass. Ladies should plan their footwear accordingly.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 14

INCOMING CHAIRMAN’S BREAKFAST, INDUSTRY AWARDS, AND KEYNOTE ADDRESS (7:009:00 AM)

Join incoming chairman Ajita Rajendra for breakfast during which he will outline plans for his tenure and present AHRI industry awards. Regular attendees will recognize that the Incoming Chairman’s address is normally given on Tuesday; schedule conflicts necessitated the change.  Following the awards, Rajendra  will introduce keynote speaker Jason Ryan Dorsey, The Gen Y Guy® and author of Y-Size Your Business, who will address “Crossing the Generational Divide,” and explain how to manage and make the most of all four generations in the workforce through cross-generation teamwork, motivation, innovation, and talent development. Jason has been featured on 20/20, The Today Show, 60 Minutes, The View, in the Wall Street Journal, and Fortune magazine.  Watch a clip of Jason at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw-UzCEZEFo.

CONCURRENT INDUSTRY SESSIONS

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the heating and cooling panels at the 2010 Annual Meeting, we will again convene the separate panels to inform the two main sectors of the membership about issues of importance to their sector. Please indicate on the registration form which of the sessions you will attend.

SESSION 1: The “heating” panel will include a discussion of issues affecting heating and water heating product manufacturers, including policies at the federal and state levels that will have an impact on these products in 2012 and beyond.  Additional information will be forthcoming.

SESSION 2: The “cooling” panel will include a discussion of issues affecting air conditioning and commercial refrigeration product manufactures, including policies at the federal and state levels that will have an impact on these products in 2012 and beyond.  Additional information will be forthcoming.

CONTRACTING BUSINESS/HPAC ENGINEERING COCKTAIL RECEPTION (6:00-7:30 PM)

Join representatives from Contracting Business/HPAC Engineering magazine for a cocktail reception on the Waterfall Pool Deck before dinner on your own at one of the four on-property restaurants or in nearby Bonita Springs, Naples, or Marco Island. Enjoy the time to catch up with friends, meet new colleagues, and welcome first-time attendees. The evening may be chilly, with an average low of 62 degrees, so bring a jacket, sweater, or wrap.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15

ANNUAL CHAIRMAN'S LUNCH AND SPORTS AWARDS (12:30 - 2:00 PM)

Join outgoing chairman Morrison Carter for the Annual Chairman's Business Meeting and Luncheon during which he will report on the state of the association. Regular attendees will recognize that this session is normally held on Monday; schedule conflicts necessitated the change. Carter’s address will be followed by the entertaining and popular awards for golf and tennis.

CHAIRMAN'S RECEPTION AND DINNER-DANCE (7:00 PM – Midnight)

Join colleagues to relax, mingle, and dance to the high energy sounds of The Powerhouse Band at the closing reception and black tie Dinner-Dance. During dinner we will honor outgoing chairman Morrison Carter and welcome newly elected chairman Ajita Rajendra. This black tie-optional affair is designed to bring the AHRI family together to celebrate another successful AHRI Annual Meeting. You will not want to miss it!

Suggested dress for daytime committee meetings, product section meetings, breakfast, and lunch is resort/country club casual (sport shirt, polo shirt, open collar, sport jacket).
