Join us for a cocktail reception on the Blue Monster Patio/Lawn to catch up with friends, meet new colleagues, and welcome first-time attendees. Following the reception, dine on your own at one of the on-property restaurants, or off-site in Doral, downtown Miami, or chic South Beach, all of which feature several quality dining choices. You may check with the resort's concierge in the lobby for assistance with making dinner reservations and transportation arrangements.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14

Linda is a retired 32-year veteran educator who spent her career in low-income, low-performing schools in Philadelphia. Through her incredible focus on high expectations, intense professional development, building strong leadership teams, and always believing in and loving her students, she has turned school after school into high performing institutions. She has been featured on TED Talk, ABC World News Tonight, and Nightline.

Linda was named a Top-50 Finalist for the 2016 Global Teach Prize and her many other awards and honors include the Partners for Civic Pride Maneto Award, the Philadelphia Magazine Trailblazer Award, the Mothers in Charge Award, the United States Department of Justice Award, and the Delta Sigma Theta Torch Award.

We will honor outgoing chairman Chris Drew and welcome newly elected chairman Chris Peel. 80s attire is highly recommended, so dig out your coolest 80s look and come ready to rock out! This event will celebrate another successful AHRI Annual Meeting. You DO NOT want to miss this totally rad event!

PHOTOS NEEDED! We are planning an 80s photo montage to play during the Chairman’s Dinner Dance and would love to get you up on the big screen! Please dig through your photo archives and send us your best 80s photo. Photos of members, spouses and guests are welcome. Whether you were 5, 15, or 25 years old in the 1980s, we want to see them! Please send the photos to Adam Carey at acarey@ahrinet.org. Photos will be collected until October 16, 2017.
