The AHRI Board of Directors and staff look forward to welcoming you to the La Quinta Resort & Club, the legendary desert resort in Palm Springs, California, with its unique architecture, grounds, and breathtaking views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. La Quinta is located in the Coachella Valley, 19 miles southeast of the city of Palm Springs and 120 miles east of Los Angeles. The Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is less than 30 minutes from the resort. Charter and private planes can also fly into Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport in Thermal, California, which is approximately 13 miles from the resort.

La Quinta Resort & Club has 796 charming Spanish-style casitas, suites, and villas with views of gardens, mountains, or pools. The resort features 41 pools; 53 hot spas; 23 tennis courts; five golf courses; seven restaurants, including Morgan's in the Desert, with cuisine created by two-time James Beard Award-winning chef Jimmy Schmidt; a Havana Club Cigar Lounge and Barbershop; the 23,000 square-foot Spa La Quinta; and the Coffee Market and boutique shops.

The five championship golf courses located at La Quinta and PGA WEST, designed by legendary golfers Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus, and Greg Norman, are known as The Western Home of Golf in America. Tom Gorman, America's most successful Davis Cup Captain and coach, and his USPTA certified staff will lead the instructional programming for this year's tennis activities. November temperatures average 79 degrees high and 52 degrees low, with less than one inch of precipitation.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11

ANNUAL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS AND NEED-TO-KNOW SESSION (6:00 - 7:15 PM)

In this session, you will learn about the benefits of your company’s membership in AHRI; be introduced to AHRI staff so that you can put faces with names; be briefed on the federal, state, and global issues facing our industry and how your association is responding to those issues; and review the 2012 Annual Meeting program of events and activities. “First-time Attendees” will be recognized and welcomed!

WELCOME RECEPTION AND DINNER (7:30 - 9:30 PM)

Spend your evening with friends and colleagues on the resort's Waterfall Patio and Lawn, surrounded by the magnificent Santa Rosa Mountains, palm trees, and softly lit casitas that exemplify the mellow "Palm Springs Lifestyle". In addition to the many buffet stations featuring the finest in California gourmet cuisine, you won't want to miss the Palm Springs Welcomes AHRI Martini Bar or Margarita Bar! Dress is resort casual, and desert evenings can be chilly. Although the Waterfall Patio is paved, the lawn area is not.

Join AHRI Chairman Ajita Rajendra for the Annual Chairman's Business Meeting Breakfast, during which he will report on the state of the association and present the AHRI Industry awards. He is considered one of the nation's leading authorities on American politics and U.S. elections.

COMBINED INDUSTRY SESSION (4:00 - 6:00 PM)

This session will include a discussion of issues affecting manufacturers of heating, water heating, air conditioning and commercial refrigeration products, including policies at the federal and state levels that will have an impact on products in 2013 and beyond.

RECOMMENDED ATTIRE

Suggested dress for daytime committee meetings, product section meetings, breakfast, and lunch is resort/country club casual (sport shirt, polo shirt, open collar, sport jacket). A sport jacket should be worn to evening functions, except for the Chairman's Dinner-Dance, which is black tie-optional.
