SESSION #1: AS TECHNOLOGY ADVANCES AND CONSUMER EXPECTATIONS CHANGE, IS THE HVACR INDUSTRY RIPE FOR DISRUPTION? (9:15 AM – 11:30 AM)

Our first Strategic Session is designed to introduce all attendees to the issues we will further address in Sessions #2 and #3. Our keynote speaker, Boxed CEO Chieh Huang, will discuss the ways in which rapidly advancing technology continues to drive innovation and disrupt traditional products and services. After Huang sets the stage, we will look carefully at how the innovative use of technology -- including the rapid growth of Internet of Things (IoT) platforms -- might have the potential to disrupt the HVACR industry. Our industry experts will discuss the evolution of Intelligent Services for their products, as well as the impact of standards and regulations on the future of connected devices and those who purchase HVACR products.

WOMEN’S NETWORKING BREAKFAST (7:30 AM – 9:00 AM)

She then enrolled in the New York School of Interior Design and became President of Sandra Marie Interior Designs. She is a wife, a mother of two adult sons, and a breast cancer survivor. She will share her lessons learned and the importance she places on always challenging the status quo.

SESSION #2: SUSTAINABILITY: CURRENT FAD OR DRIVER FOR CONTINUOUS CHANGE AND INNOVATION? (8:30 AM – 9:30 AM)

Strategic Session #2 will focus on sustainability, featuring David Miller, former Toronto mayor and head of World Wildlife Fund Canada. Miller will outline the many current and planned global sustainability initiatives and set the stage for a discussion of these measures.

SESSION #3: INDUSTRY SECTOR BREAKOUTS (9:45 AM – 11:30 AM)

Breaking into product sector groups (Applied Products, Heating, Refrigeration, Unitary), we will look ahead to 2019 and beyond to identify the certification, regulatory, standards, codes, analytics, and legislative issues that each industry sector must address to be prepared for the future. Meeting as a broader sector group of manufacturers of products and components from similar or related technologies will provide opportunities to discuss strategies to address the common and cross-cutting issues impacting each sector. Click here to see which product sections map to each sector group, bearing in mind that some map to more than one.

For maximum effectiveness, companies that participate in more than one sector should plan to have at least one staff member in attendance at each relevant sector breakout session. Breakout sessions will have similar agendas, making it unproductive for one person to try to attend more than one.

INCOMING CHAIRMAN'S LUNCH, SPORTS AWARDS AND KEYNOTE SPEAKER (12:00 PM - 2:00 PM)
Join incoming chairman Bill Steel (Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc.) for the Incoming Chairman's Luncheon and Sports Awards, during which Bill will outline plans for his tenure as AHRI Chairman. Following his address, Bill will introduce the 2018 Golf and Tennis Chairman, who will present the entertaining and popular awards. Following the awards, Bill will welcome keynote speaker Amy Walter, National Editor of the non-partisan Cook Political Report, and the former political director of ABC News. Just a week after the mid-term elections, Amy will expertly dissect the results and what they might mean for our industry and the nation.

SESSION #4: ADVOCATING FOR THE HVACR INDUSTRY: HOW DO WE WORK TOGETHER TO SHAPE OUR FUTURE? (2:30 PM – 5:30 PM)

Strategic Session #4 will focus on advocacy efforts from a local, state, national, and global perspective. A regulatory panel will discuss the major issues requiring AHRI’s attention, and breakout sessions will allow attendees to choose between learning more about the impact of the recent election or about building an advocacy program for their large, medium, or small business.

CHAIRMAN'S ULTIMATE DISCO RECEPTION AND DINNER-DANCE (6:30 PM - 11:00 PM)
Join colleagues during the closing reception and dinner-dance as we transport you back to the 1970s with a high-energy performance by Boogie Knights, which will perform your favorite 70s disco songs. We will honor outgoing chairman Chris Peel and welcome newly elected chairman Bill Steel. 70s attire is highly recommended, so scramble for your grooviest 70s look and come ready to boogie! This event will celebrate the conclusion of our inaugural Leadership Forum. Can you dig it?
